Impact of Canada Immigration Levels Plan (2024-2026) on the future of Canada:

  • Canada has laid out the long-term goal of focusing on economic growth by inviting more foreign skilled professionals. This is reflected in their target of welcoming over 60% of permanent resident admissions to the economic class in 2025.
  • Last year, Canada achieved the target of 4.4% of French-speaking New Permanent Residents (Outside Quebec). Canada plans to increase the approval rate of new Francophone immigrants by 6% in 2024, 7% in 2025, and 8% in 2026.
  • The government of Canada continues to prioritize healthcare and STEM professionals as firms to fill labor force gaps in meeting sustainable initiatives, supporting family reunification, and supporting humanitarian efforts.
  • Canada identifies severe labor shortages in key sectors such as health care, transportation, and construction without pressurizing the existing housing, health care, and infrastructure crisis. The new plan is intended for sustainable and stable population growth.
  • The new increased plan reveals significant progress by the IRCC in delivering new digital systems and improved customer service, resulting in increased application processing and reduced backlogs.
  • Over the last five years, Canada has invited around 38,000 tradespeople for permanent residency under the Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Program.
  • Canada believes bringing new immigrants to fill labor gaps will also help channel the National Housing Strategy. This ambitious government plan will invest over $ 82 billion to provide homes for Canadians.
